Garth Johns Conext is pleased to be working with Garth Johns, to help celebrate the publication of his first book, COMMON SENSE LEADERSHIP. Garth has served in a senior administrative capacity primarily in the public sector and broader public sector since 1975. During that time he has served as the Administrator of 2 municipal Homes for the Aged, as the Vice President of Human Resources at 3 different hospitals, as a Labour Relations Consultant and for the past 6 years, as the Commissioner of Human Resources for the Regional Municipality of Durham.
He has, for the past 12 years, on a part time basis, operated his own consulting business, assisting organizations with a multitude of Human Resources concerns. His educational background includes Baccalaureate Degrees in Arts and Health Administration as well as an MBA. He is also a Certified Health Executive and a Certified Municipal Manager.
Over the years, Garth has served as a Board member of a number of professional and volunteer organizations and currently is a member of the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centres Board and Chair of the Oshawa Public Library Board. Garth has successfully implemented Wellness Programs and has the reputation as someone who promotes positive employee/labour relations, a quality work life for all staff and a sound work/life balance.
